Top 5 Super Bowl Party Tips
by Lindsey Rohling. January 30, 2017

Super Bowl LI is almost here. Millions will tune in to watch the Patriots and the Falcons battle it out on the world’s largest stage in Houston. If you’re like me, you’ll be tuning in even though your team isn’t playing. It’s just another excuse for a party, or homegating as some like to call it. Here are my top 5 tips for successful Super Bowl Party.

  1. The bigger, the better. For TVs that is. There’s no such thing as a television too big when it comes to watching the Super Bowl (and, let’s be honest, all the commercials). And now is not the time to mute the sound either. Crank up the surround sound. Your neighbors won’t mind.
  2. If you feed them, they will come. If there’s one thing you don’t want to run out of, it’s food. Super Bowl coverage lasts well over 3 hours. A well-rounded menu is a must. My checklist goes something like this… two meat options (see my go-to Ham Roll recipe below), two dips, a veggie tray or fruit and a dessert or two. If this seems like a lot of work to you, don’t undertake it all yourself. Having a menu guideline allows you to give guests the freedom to bring something they like in a dedicated category. To simplify things a little bit more, break out the crockpot. You can prepare hours in advance and free up the oven or grill. Even though you’re hosting, you should get to enjoy the party, too. I always like to have plenty of drink options for our guests, too. And Beer is synonymous with Super Bowl, just make sure its cold. I think it’s necessary to say: Please drink responsibly!
  3. Look the part. Have fun with the décor. Get crafty if that’s your thing. Repurpose things you have at home. This time of year, Party City has tons of inexpensive Super Bowl and football specific party supplies to jazz up your party. Just don’t wait til the day of and expect to have your choosing.
  4. Take a seat. You want your guests to be comfortable. Make sure you have plenty of seating for everyone to get a good view. It’s the perfect time to break out the tailgate chairs. I love to use fold up canvas chairs like these (long before I began working at Logo Brands) for extra seating during homegating. The main reasons being the comfort and the cup holders. There’s nothing worse than having a scrumptious looking plate in your hand and nowhere to set your drink to dive right in.                 LogoTailgateChair
  5. Let’s give ‘em something to cheer about. If you and your guests don’t have a dog in the fight, give everyone something to cheer for with the game Squares. We’ve played for years and everyone enjoys it. You probably know the game but we’ve made it super easy for you print and play. You decide the bet per square and the winnings. Print the game board here and the rules are available here just in case. Also makes for a friendly office wager.

Super Bowl Squares Game

That’s it.  Personally when I think of the Super Bowl, I think of the food, drinks, commercials, halftime, and then the game. Maybe it’s just me? What do you love about Super Bowl? Who are you cheering for?

Ham Roll Recipe

2 – 12 packs of Hawaiian Rolls

1 lb. sliced deli ham

8 oz. Sliced Swiss cheese

1 stick of butter

¼ cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon yellow mustard

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Slice rolls down the middle, leaving the top and bottom whole. Melt the butter and add in brown sugar and mustard. Mix together. Pour graciously on the inside top of the rolls. Layer ham and cheese. Assemble and coat the top of the rolls with remaining butter mixture. Bake for 15 minutes. Slice individually and serve.

    Summer Interns Q&A

Over the years, the internship opportunities at Logo have continued to grow as we grow. We're able to offer more areas of interest to students. Our primary goal is always to give the students real-world training that they wouldn't get in a classroom. We treat them just as any other member of our team as they work right alongside us. We currently have several staff members who started off as interns with us. We were happy to have several outstanding interns over this past summer. Let's take a minute to meet them...
